De-stressing Botanical Hair Revival
Intelligent Skin Sense spa location offers a stimulating hair and scalp treatment that adds shine, and softness back into the hair. The spa service incorporates nutrients for the scalp and hair coupled with intelligent technology and a pampering element. The stimulating treatment begins with a high frequency massage that omits ozone and reduces redness and scaling on the scalp often related to over processing the hair. This also helps control dandruff and eczema in the hairline. Next, a homemade essential oil blend is applied warm to the scalp and is followed by a relaxing scalp massage. The hair is then sectioned and sprayed with a deep penetrating vitamin mist that saturates each strand to revive listless hair. A wide tooth wood comb detangles the hair and is then wrapped in a steamed herbal towel. During this time the head is massaged to wash away stress and fatigue. The client can opt to leave with the treatment in the hair or have a wash and style afterwards. The stimulating hair and scalp treatment takes 30 minutes and is 60.00 a la carte and an additional 35.00 to dry and style.

Marlene says Home treatments are equally as effective and she has created a hair softening concoction. This and many more home recipes are a part of her upcoming book called Age Rebel.

“Non-invasive Facial Rejuvenation: Demystifying Botox, Radiesse, and HA Fillers”
Monday, November 9, 2009

Join a conversation with Dr. Kim about “Non-invasive Facial Rejuvenation: Demystifying Botox, Radiesse, and HA Fillers”

There are a plethora of injectable facial products on the market today and it may be overwhelming to choose which product(s) is right for you. Dr. Kim will explain the facial aging process from a plastic surgeon’s perspective and “demystify” the indications, mechanisms and duration of action of Botox® Cosmetic, hyaluronic acid fillers (i.e. Restylane, Juverderm), and Radiesse (a calcium microsphere facial filler). These three categories of products, when used correctly after an expert facial analysis, can sculpt your face, plump your lips and provide temporary relief from signs of aging including worry lines, and facial volume loss. Dr. Kim will simplify your choices and present an algorithm for non-surgical facial rejuvenation.

About Dr.Betty Kim
Dr. Betty Kim attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate studies with a major in biological sciences. She then moved to attend the Ivy League's University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. She realized her passion for plastic surgery early in medical school, drawn to the field's creativity and the opportunity to positively impact a patient's quality of life. Many patients were healthy and wanted to make a change or had just started and/or won a battle with cancer and desired reconstruction. Upon graduation, she was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania's highly competitive, integrated plastic surgery program. This program combines all relevant surgical training that a plastic surgeon must acquire- general and plastic- under one umbrella. Her residency involved extensive training in the latest techniques in breast and skin cancer reconstruction, pediatric plastic surgery, and the most efficacious and up-to-date techniques in cosmetic plastic surgery. She has published in plastic surgery textbooks and journals and her work on lower lid blepharoplasty (excess eyelid skin and fat removal), free flap breast reconstruction, and lower extremity reconstruction has been presented at national and international meetings. Dr. Kim recently opened her office in Trumbull, CT and is affiliated with Norwalk Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent's Medical Center, and Yale- New Haven Hospital. She and her husband live in Fairfield, CT.
